The Donald E. Young Sports & Fitness Center
The Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center, which houses the men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and track and field teams, is named after Donald Young who coached both basketball and football at Black Hills State. He also served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and in the Korean Conflict.
The Young Center’s gymnasium had a makeover with a new wood floor in the summer of 2014, replacing the original floor from the buildings construction of 1989. The gymnasium also features a video board.
The Young Center Fieldhouse is home to the track and field teams with a 200-meter track, six-lane track. The infield houses the weight throw and shot put cage, long jump pit and pole vault pit.
